Developer, Prudentia

Built for the reality of the profession

My name is Matthias Willau. Before developing Prudentia, I worked for over 7 years in the financial sector.

During my time as a regulator at the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), and later as a consultant at KPMG, my daily reality was engaging with the regulatory framework in a variety of ways: assessing bank information, developing policy, and consulting banks on regulation.

I understand the friction of chasing a definition through multiple levels of delegated acts, Guidelines and Q&As. The sheer volume and profound interconnectedness of regulatory text can be overwhelming. Even the best experts sometimes spend hours on manual groundwork before they can actually begin to make compliance judgments.

The tech industry promised that Generative AI would revolutionize our work. But generic models share a fatal flaw for the financial sector: they hallucinate. They are statistical engines that predict plausible words, rather than retrieve exact facts. In banking regulation, relying on a plausible guess is an unacceptable risk (not prudential). Compliance requires traceable, grounded source material.

That is why I built Prudentia. I did not build it to replace the expert, nor to make definitive compliance rulings autonomously. I built it to systematically surface exact regulatory intersections, allowing you to make informed, evidence-based judgments.

Prudentia is software for professionals. It accelerates your workflow by grounding every insight in exact citations, empowering your expertise without compromising on security or accuracy.
